2016 Shou Mei Aged White Tea is a Fujian-grown white tea from old tea trees that are 1200 years old. This tea was lovingly crafted from naturally withered upper leaf and tips, the tea is hand rolled into delightful reddened and browned tea “balls” that slowly unfurl as they steep.

The aging process develops a smooth and sweet character for our Shou Mei; its aroma is fruity and enticing. Once steeped, you will admire the meditative unfurling of the leaves as they release an amber liquor with a sweet Chinese dried date aroma. At first sip, you will taste a flavour reminiscent of lighter oolong teas with notes of amber honey and Chinese dates. You may continue to top off your tea ball for multiple steeps to full enjoy your Shou Mei Aged White Tea.

Amazing quality tea, I've bought it a couple of times and it always brews super nice. Lasts a long time if you're brewing tea ceremony style as well, with my 100ml brewing vessel I was easily getting 10 steeps out of a single ball of tea. Very forward with the date and honey flavor, and quite naturally sweet. If you're looking for something that has that natural intense sweetness and dessert-like flavor, this is a winner. Definitely want to stock up on some more.
