Description
Da Hong Pao Superfine – "Big Red Robe" Wuyi Rock OolongDa Hong Pao, or "Big Red Robe, " is a legendary oolong produced from tea bushes grown in the Wuyi Mountains of Fujian Province, China. During the Qing Dynasty it was honored with the title "King of Teas, " and today it remains one of China's most celebrated and sought-after oolongs. Da Hong Pao is famous for its unique floral fragrance and its distinctive Wuyi "rock tea" character — a mineral depth that comes from tea bushes growing among the region's rocky cliffs. Its dark, roasted leaves produce a brew that's fragrant in scent, heavy in flavor and rich in color. Legend says the tea's name comes from red robes placed over the original bushes by a grateful emperor. Tasting Notes
