Korean Joonjak Plus – Fine Jeju Island Green Tea

Our Korean Joonjak Plus is a fine Korean green tea from Jeju, a subtropical, mineral-rich volcanic island known for its fertile soil, excellent climate and lush vegetation — ideal conditions for tea cultivation. Jeju produces many of Korea's most sought-after teas, and this Joonjak is a wonderful example.

Joonjak refers to a mid-season harvest of young leaves. The delicate leaves are lovingly twisted, dried and lightly roasted, as is tradition, to bring out their full flavor. Jeju's clean air, pure water and proximity to the sea give the tea tasting notes reminiscent of fine Japanese green teas, with its own gentle Korean character.

Tasting Notes

  • Liquor: intense greenish gold
  • Flavor: light-bodied and balanced, with mild grassy notes
  • Character: buttery smooth, like Japanese green teas
  • Finish: clean, with less astringency

Why You'll Love It

Korean green teas are still a hidden treasure for many tea lovers, and Joonjak Plus is a beautiful introduction. It's smooth, buttery and gentle, with a light roast that adds warmth and roundness. It offers a smooth, gentle cup.

  • From volcanic Jeju Island, Korea
  • Traditionally twisted and lightly roasted
  • Buttery, smooth and mildly grassy
  • Less astringent than many green teas

How to Enjoy

Brew it in a small teapot or gaiwan and enjoy multiple infusions. It pairs beautifully with Korean and Japanese dishes, rice, vegetables and seafood, and makes a light, refreshing iced tea.

Enjoy Joonjak Plus for a delicious taste of fine Korean green tea.

Excellent tea! The flavors are a mix between Japanese Sencha and Chinese Mao Feng. There are umami sushi notes with toasted chestnut. I steeped this tea grandpa style and noticed no bitterness from 3 grams. This is a definite re purchase!
